The ECN100 series are extended area infrared reference sources, stabilizing high temperatures at up to +800 °C, with high uniformity. The emissive head includes an exclusive emissive surface made of micro-pyramids. The emissivity and thermal uniformity of these blackbodies are, as a result, particularly high and because the surface is made of such micro-cavities, these sources can be used over a wide range of wavelengths from near-IR to far IR.

The main applications for these sources are calibration of sensors such as thermal imagers and line scanners, sample emissivity or transmission measurement, real size infrared targets, large spectral bandwidth reference source, etc. The robust design of the emissive head allows for lab or field condition operations.

Labview Driver available

For its full range of blackbodies, EOI provides a full-featured LabVIEW driver, compatible with LabVIEW v8 or higher and for all available communication links Ethernet, RS232 and IEEE.

Directly available from the LabVIEW menu are all the required VIs. These functions allow the operator to read the current temperature, send a temperature setpoint, check the stabilization status, among many other functions. For ease of use, the supply also includes an example program built with all the available VIs.

With this driver, all EOI’s blackbodies can be integrated into complex test benches running automatic infrared characterization routines and are fully controllable.
