Electro Optical Industries to launch Visible Channel and Laser Range Finder Options for Spynel Systems at AUSA 201709/22/2017 08:10 pm
Electro Optical Industries' Spynel panoramic infrared thermal imaging surveillance system with now offer an option with a visible channel and laser range finder. This new solution will be presented at the Annual Association of the US Army's exhibition in Washington, DC from October 9-11th.
At the upcoming AUSA 2017 meeting and exposition (October 9-11th) in Washington DC, Electro Optical Industries will debut their latest achievement for their successful line of panoramic infrared thermal imaging surveillance systems, known as Spynel. The added options of a Visible Channel, a Laser Range Finder, or both, to their Spynel-S and Spynel-X models which already boast the longest detection ranges and best image quality of IRSTs on the market, will further enhance the systems’ impressive capabilities.
The innovative and powerful option, called V-LRF, aims to further enhance the recognition phase of the threat detected by the sensor’s detection system. The full HD Visible Channel will allow users to use a x30 continuous optical zoom in order to accurately detect and recognize even the smallest of objects, such as small drones. The eyesafe Laser Range Finder option provides the user with accurate data regarding the distance of the detected threat, whether at sea, on land or in the air.
General Manager Stephen Scopatz of EOI said, “The ability to know the exact distance to the tracked target and to zoom in to get a visible image all within the Spynel camera and Cyclope software is a major upgrade to the tactical information provided to the user. This allows for fast, seamless progression from target detection to target recognition and identification. This is what many customers have been asking for”.
These new updates to the Spynel systems, which first debuted in 2007, mark yet another period of change to better address current threats that pose risks to both the commercial and defense markets where drone and micro-drone detection are becoming increasingly important. Electro Optical Industries will be at Booth # 3338 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington DC, October 9th-11th for AUSA.
