Electro Optical Industries is currently looking to add the following positions to our growing team! 

Computer Engineer (Embedded Systems Engineer)

This position is located in our Goleta, CA office

Position description:

Developing firmware and digital electronics design for EOI products.  Firmware responsibilities will include defining software architecture and programming, while digital electronics design will cover schematic development for interfacing at the board and chip level.

  • Firmware development of EOI controllers, some User Interface software as well.  The controllers utilize real-time closed loop feedback to maintain performance.
  • Support for Standard Communication interfaces and development of test code
  • Motion control for automation
  • Hardware development for digital aspects of our products. 
  • Integration of available IC’s and choosing COTS solutions.
  • Provide support to manufacturing during the introduction of new products and maintenance of existing product lines, troubleshoot problems with existing products as needed
  • Create comprehensive test plans, execute the test plans, and create detailed reports with conclusions. Creation and execution of test plans includes the abilities to design experiments, select test equipment, design fixtures, and integrate pieces that will validate that design intent is achieved.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Python and C++ required, and operating systems such as Linux, Windows and DOS.
  • Digital electronics schematic development for interfacing at the board and chip level, FPGA development would be a plus
  • Ability to synthesize customer requirements, specifications and input from other engineers into product performance that meets or exceeds the design goals.
  • Personally, driven to ensure development tasks are both cost effective and completed on time
  • Ability to troubleshoot both Firmware and Hardware, with examples of demonstrating this skill in prior positions
  • Ability to understand the products at the system/customer level.
  • Proficient with MS Office Tools (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experienced at analyzing data and developing testable theories and conclusions
  • Must possess a sense of team work, respect for other’s efforts and a “can-do attitude”
  • Exhibit proactive attitude towards upholding quality standards, with a drive for continuous improvement and a dedication to providing customer satisfaction
  • Familiarity with Military, commercial, medical device/FDA manufacturing standards and regulations

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Sales Engineer/Sales Manager.

This position is located in our Goleta, CA office. 

Position Responsibilities:
The Sales Engineer position is a high profile, key contributor to the achievement of company revenue goals across a broad set of industries and a diverse customer base. Specific account responsibilities include lead generation and customer support.

Key Responsibilities: Identifying prospects and closing new business opportunities; executing and monitoring sales order process from inquiry to quotation through order fulfillment; performing product demonstration; providing technical customer support by developing detailed knowledge of our products; maintaining sales forecasts; attending trade exhibitions and traveling to customer sites as required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering,
  • Minimum 3 years of technical or sales experience
  • Computer skills
  • Must possess “soft skills”: conflict resolution and negotiation, personal effectiveness, creative problem solving, strategic thinking, team building, and influencing skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel

Valued but not Required:

  • Knowledge of optics and photonics technologies
  • Sales experience
  • Experience developing new accounts
  • Experience with scientific products.
