Rotary Kiln Hot Spot Detection

Cement, lime, refractory, aluminum and iron ore producers using rotary kilns throughout the manufacturing process must continuously monitor their production for any hot spots, as a single refractory brick fall could cause a serious delay in the process. In order to be able to detect a small area on a kiln from a single brick fall, a kiln system evaluation instrument must be carefully selected that has an enhance spatial and thermal resolution. In addition, the infrared detector's signal noise must also be as low as possible to be able to accurately monitor these small changes in temperature.
