Optical Properties of Infrared Materials

In working with infrared energy there are applications for windows (used for example in a vacuum chamber) or optical lenses (used for example in an IR camera) through which the infrared energy must be transmitted. Various materials are utilized to fabricate windows and lenses. The most common materials and the respective properties are listed here.
